I was driving home this weekend from South Bend to hear the sad news of the death of a dear friend of mine. It was completely unexpected and I found myself reminsencing over the good memories I have of him. David was a pivotal influence in my life when I was a sales rep back in the early nineties. He was a bright light, always ready with a good joke, a shoulder to cry on and generally just a good egg. As most friendships go ours had ebbed and flowed over the years…he was busy, I was busy time slipped away. He came back into my life when he went to work at Tom O’ Brien with my beloved husband and the friendship flourished again…he helped Tim get a job at Beck Toyota and the two of them were closer than ever. The last time I saw David was two years ago at a Toyota function. We had a great time and laughed over old times. As usual, I never made good on the promise of “lets get together again soon” . David moved on from Beck to another job, kept in touch with Tim, and I heard about his life through recounted conversations. I always thought…one of these days I am going to tell David how much he meant to me back in the day…crying over Tim, trying to figure out my place in this world and how important he was to me. The time has passed….David has gone on. I wish I had told him how much he meant to me. Make this your New Year’s resolution…..reach out to those who have influenced you, who have marked you , who have changed you for the better. Life is quirky. You never know when the time will pass and it is always too late to tell them…I love you, I forgive you, please forgive me, I wish you well, you are important. Hug your family. Hug your friends. I wish you peace, love, and happiness this year..for in the end it is all we have. Angela

my open houses last weekend in the crazy weather. 8057 Sargent Ridge held the record with 6 sets of people coming through from 3-5pm..during the worst of it!! All of these homes are priced to sell and in great condition so don’t wait…call me today to schedule your personal tour. On a personal note, thanks again to all that have inquired about my son Corey…he is doing well. I am going to see him on October 10. He told me that he is doing well, tired of saying “yes drill sergeant” but other than that none the worse for wear. Thanks for all of your good wishes and emails…much appreciated. Good Evening, when we last chatted, I told you about Corey leaving for basic…very proud but very sad mama!!! Well, as things happen…I have been BUSY!! I think God knew that I needed to stay “occupied” for the first few weeks after he left! So, I have sold 8 homes in four weeks…including my biggest sale to date…1.3 million which is a boost! Since I have shown over 60+ houses in the last few weeks here is my advice to sellers currently on the market….1. House MUST be pristine…smell good and look good. 2. Know your competition…drive by and look at what you are competing with. 3. Price it right…savvy buyers know the good deals not rock bottom just well price homes. Do these things and the buyers will come. Make sure your internet pix look good…they will pass you by if the pictures are dark or look fuzzy. Hope this helps…have a good evening…Angela

Good evening, My favorite question I get from friends, family, neighbors and clients…how is the Geist market?? The answer is…pretty good, if you are willing to do some work! Sellers have to be priced competitively…as in like the after Christmas sale at Macy, great condition and not offended when buyers “low ball” you. Let’s face it…no one likes to get a low offer…my best advice, counter anyway. Our market is not that off when the deal finally comes together. Just remember that our national and local media is still feeding on the “bad news”…and that is what the buyer hears. They are going to be very cautious to make sure they don’t overpay for a home. The good news is…homes are selling. If you have a child coming home from college that you don’t want to live in YOUR basement….buy them a house and live through until the market bounces back…and it will. We have been living pretty high the past 10 years with every new year being a “record year”. It has to balance out and now is the time if you have some cash…you can find some bargains.
On a personal note, thanks to all of you who have emailed or called asking about my son Corey. Here is the update.
Corey left on August 7 to start his basic training and AIT training with the Armour School in Fort Knox, Kentucky. I have spoken to him (for three minutes:). He says he loves it and it is everything he expected it to be. Oh, and it is REALLY HOT down there.He graduates on November 26. He would love any postcards or letters. Please send them to

Good afternoon….hope you are enjoying this rainy July 4. This is the time of year to reflect not only on having a barby, enjoying friends and a three day weekend…it is also to remember what an honor it is to be an American. My oldest son enlisted in the U.S. Army and deploys on August 7, 2008. This is probably the most important July 4th my family will celebrate knowing that one of our own will be off soon to defend his country. If you have a quiet moment today please say a quick prayer for all of our troops including my son Corey Duggan who help make this day filled with family, friends and good times possible for all of us. Our great country was founded on freedom….and they fight to make sure we still have that liberty. God Bless and Happy 4th to all of my friends and neighbors. Angela
