Angela Duggan

Angela is a user experience expert with 20 years of experience in the IT industry.

 

Angela has worked with enterprise organizations to create, develop and optimize user experience departments and process. She started her career as a web developer and quickly moved into user experience specifically working with rich internet, desktop, and mobile applications for B2B.

 

As the Director and now VP of User Experience, Angela created and grew the UX team at BeyondTrust from 3 to 26 in just over 3 years. She now manages and develops a happy, productive team who started with widely diverse skillsets and backgrounds.

 

Angela led the implementation of Lean UX at BeyondTrust. She championed the understanding and enthusiastic support for real user experience research and design across the organization including Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Customer Support, and Marketing, up to the most senior levels including the CEO.

 

Angela moved BeyondTrust’s UX maturity from a collection of start-ups with entrenched, siloed products with build cultures, to well on its way to a unified organization with a vision culture and single Design System.

 

Angela ran an influential (and somewhat controversial) survey to promote an understanding of where design was happening in the organization (hint: design was happening all over the place, without designers). This helped her build a supported case for growing the UX team.

 

Angela led an internal 3-year vision initiative to drive the direction and alignment of the company’s product strategy. This was used to generate support and excitement internally across numerous internal stakeholders and with customers.
